OM travels to Bordeaux with the same questions as previous years: can OM break the Bordeaux curse? The reason being that OM has not won a game in Bordeaux since 1978. That’s over 35 years without a win. Rarely have we seen streaks last so long. Over the past few years, OM has played well in Bordeaux, but fallen victim to last-minute goals and absolutely horrible officiating (see video below). At this moment, Bordeaux sits in 16th place, 2 points below OM. With key players missing, let us hope that OM can resist its own demons and finally end this curse after so many years. Here is the resume from last year’s Bordeaux 1-0 OM, where the ref refuses to call a penalty for Alessandrini on one of the most blatant fouls I have ever seen ignored.
My Lineup
Mandanda
Manquillo – Nkoulou – Rekik – Mendy
Romao – Diarra
Sarr – Cabella – Barrada
Batshuayi
With Isla and Dja Djédjé out, the right flank of the defense/midfield will see two solid players fill in. The biggest question is who to start in Nkoudou’s absence, Sarr or Ocampos? I chose Sarr as he provides pace and determination, two things Ocampos has seemed to lack lately. Whoever plays, lets hope they are up to the task.
Merci, et Allez l’OM !
