Mandanda Committed to OM: Translation of his Announcement

Mandanda, linked to several clubs this winter, made an announcement saying he is committed to staying with OM till the end of the season. I have linked the message below, and translated it further down the article..

“Out of respect for the Marseille supporters, I have decided to speak publicly about my future. I have heard a lot of news in the press about me, but will now give you the real story. My agent has received several offers from different clubs to leave in the January transfer window. We assessed the offers, and I weighed the pros and cons for what would be best for me. This is the result : I have decided to stay at l’Olympique de Marseille till the end of the season. One of the main reasons is my attachment to Marseille. I have responsibilities here, I am the captain… My adventure with l’Olympique de Marseille is not a simple one, it is a story, a part of my life that I have grown here. I do not know how the future will play out, but what is important for me today is to get started on this second half of the season with my teammates, to do my best as captain and goalkeeper for l’OM.

Till Sunday,

This message will be a relief for OM fans everywhere. It not only ensures that the best goalie in Ligue 1 will be staying, but that the team captain from the past several years will remain. It is yet another example of how classy Steve is. A true professional, on and off the field. He plays well on the field and respects the club and the fans. This initiative to clear the air was done for the fans and his teammates. A true captain who is refusing to abandon ship. Il Fenomeno !

Here is a video to relive some of his best moments last season
