OM returns to le Vélodrome with a tricky matchup against Lille. The Northern club, coached by Antonetti, sits 5 points behind OM. After fighting out of relegation, Lille are now in a similar position to OM. Sitting in the tense middle between relegation and European spots, both teams need every win they can get. With both teams playing better, this is headed for an exciting Friday matchup between the two sides.

After being screwed out of three points last week (let’s not even get into it), OM is in a must-win game. Now six points from a Champions League spot, OM must match its home performances with its away record to hope for Europe. With the club facing big changes this summer, the revenue and exposure that Champions League provides is more important than ever. Also, OM currently has won 4 out of 18 previous home games, including last season. That is absolutely unacceptable, and unfair to the fans. If OM can play like they did last week (and the ref doesn’t mess up), OM can get three points.
Lille is a strong team, but lost 1-3 at home against Troyes last week. This could be a fluke, but OM must smell blood in the water and attack them. No more timidness at home: attack the goal. Last week proved that Nkoudou, Sarr, Cabella, and Michy are a strong quartet going forward. With so much young talent, the team must confirm and score several goals. My Lineup to follow.

Merci, et allez l’OM !
